AUR leads polls as Romania rejects failing establishment parties

Two new opinion polls released in September confirm a dramatic political shift in Romania: the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) has emerged as the clear frontrunner, while the once-dominant establishment parties continue to lose ground.

AUR leads polls as Romania rejects failing establishment parties

AUR surges to the top

The Avangarde survey places AUR at 41%, while CURS shows the party at 34% — both results leaving the Social Democratic Party (PSD) far behind, at around 22–23%. The National Liberal Party (PNL), once the standard-bearer of Romanian politics, has collapsed into the low teens, barely registering 13–16%.

For Romanians, the message is unmistakable: the old political class is bankrupt. Citizens are turning to AUR, the only party speaking openly about sovereignty, national dignity, and defending traditional values..

Collapse of the Old Guard

The decline of PSD and PNL signals the end of an era. These parties, tied for years to Brussels elites and local oligarchs, no longer inspire confidence. Their policies — from reckless economic management to cultural surrender — have alienated the very people they claimed to represent.

Even the so-called reformists in USR are fading, registering only around 11–12%. Minor protest groups such as SOS and POT barely reach the 2–5% threshold, underscoring that AUR has captured the mantle of authentic opposition.

Why voters are shifting

This conservative surge reflects a broader awakening:

  • Romanians are rejecting globalist experiments that weaken sovereignty.
  • Families want leaders who defend identity, tradition, and faith — not empty slogans.
  • Citizens are demanding accountability from politicians who for decades have served themselves rather than the people.

A conservative future for Romania

If these trends hold, Romania could be heading for a decisive political realignment. AUR is no longer a protest party — it is now the people’s party, poised to take the reins of power.

For voters tired of corruption, decay, and liberal experiments, this is a historic moment: the rise of a conservative, patriotic alternative capable of putting Romania back on its feet.
