A radical extremist group calling itself an “Antifa Kommando” has claimed responsibility for the deliberate arson that destroyed the historic Thurn und Taxis hunting lodge in Bavaria.

They issued a threatening message directed at Princess Gloria and accusing her of “reactionary” and “fascist” affiliations.

The attack & the threat

The lodge, located in the Fürstlicher Thiergarten near Donaustauf, was engulfed in flames in the early hours of Monday, leaving only its outer walls standing. Damage is estimated at €4 million. German authorities are investigating whether left-wing extremists were behind the fire.

In an incendiary statement on the left-wing site Indymedia, the attackers called the blaze a “warning” — demanding that Princess Gloria cease her “inhuman agitation” or face worse consequences.

The manifesto singled out her alleged connections to right-wing figures such as Steve Bannon, Viktor Orbán, and Germany’s AfD. It then threatened:

“If you don’t stop your inhuman agitation, next time not only your golf club will burn.”

It also framed the lodge as a symbol of “monarchy, contempt for humanity, and class privilege,” and expressed solidarity with Hanna S., a convicted left-wing extremist from Hungary.

Political context & broader implications

This attack is among the most serious politically motivated arson incidents in Germany in recent years. It underscores how radical activists now target not only property but personified symbols of tradition and authority.

In the same statement, the authors demanded “revenge” and framed their act as resistance to repression. This is not isolated violence — it is ideological warfare.

Across Europe, conservative and sovereignty-minded leaders have sounded alarms. Some governments, including in Hungary and the Netherlands, are beginning to treat Antifa as the domestic terror threat it is.
